Palet Ecommerce: A Design Tool Where Customers Become Co-Creators
Palet wanted a design tool that let customers create, not just shop. We built a platform where users customize tiles, visualize them with high-fidelity detail, and order without leaving the experience.
The tool honors the craft of glazed tiles while giving customers full creative control. It's ecommerce that feels like collaboration.

"Baast dedication to delivering top-notch results is evident from start to finish. What truly sets them apart is their high-end tech support and ability to seamlessly translate physical products into digital experiences. They are transparent collaborators who consistently deliver quality work, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. I couldn’t be happier with the results."

The Challenge
Palet's tiles are crafted with experimental glazes and unique finishes. They needed a tool that showed that quality, not just the color.
The challenge was letting customers experience the glossiness, the material, the craft, all digitally. If we got it right, customers would order with confidence, returns would drop, and sharing designs would be seamless.
Our Process
For us, innovation stems from understanding the needs of our clients and their existing processes. We began by immersing ourselves in Palet's world, learning about their production process and tile printing techniques. This involved visiting their factory and collaborating closely to visualize each step.
Built for Their Workflow
We didn't want to create more work for Palet. So we built the tool around their existing process, using the same files they already use for printing to render the tiles.
The system captures glossiness, adapts to different lighting conditions, and updates easily as their catalog grows. It's designed to evolve with their business, not complicate it.
"We were looking to reimagine tile production and wanted to make it possible for people to create unique designs while honouring the natural qualities of glazed tiles"

Dezeen Awards 2024 Nominated
After the project launch, Palet was nominated for the prestigious Dezeen Awards in the Design Surfaces category for enabling people to design and produce their own ceramic tiles.
"Through a production line entirely developed in-house, Palet was able to design and print tiles on demand and at scale. The result is a premium and unique alternative to mass-produced ceramic tiles."
